I took part in the volunteer at the International Children`s Festival on 16th of May with my classmate, Kae.
There were many volunteers who were younger than us. It suprised me but they were really positive and independent.
The workshop was exciting, to make a kites for children. I was busy all day but it was interesting, made a difference for the kids. They were so cute!
In my case, this Festival educated me that
volunteer activity is really important for vancouver life. o:)

Last Wednesday, I took part in a volunteer activity in The Vancouver International Children's Festival. It was my first experience to work as a volunteer.
I was looking forward to it because I feel comfortable to help other people and I like to join an event.
In the festival, I was assigned by the staff in 'Make a Kite' tent. I helped children to make a kite and talked to them.
We were so busy because so many children formed a line in front of the tent to get a kite. So I couldn't talk to them very much in English, but it was great experience to meet native people and other students who came from foreign countries.
If you need some opportunity to meet various type of people, I recommend you to do volunteer activity.

"Easy ride"
After I came to Canada,I found it more convenient for the disabled, elderly people and people with baby carriage to get on the bus.
When they get on or get off the bus,the bus goes down and they get a lift for them. The bus driver helps them and this is very common in Canada.
In Japan, the majority of the bus companies have this system, but it's not commonly used.
Even though most buses in Vancouver don't come on time, this system is very practical!
